Kathmandu. Rahul Thapaliya of Shankar Dev College has secured the first position in the Stock Pitching Competition 2082 organized by Sun Securities (Broker No. 64). <\/p>\n
The tournament has been successfully completed. The grand finale of the tournament was held at Sun Securities Trading Hall in Narayanchaur, Naxal, Kathmandu. <\/p>\n
The first edition of the competition initiated by the broker community was aimed at developing a research-based investment culture in the Nepalese capital market. The participants presented their stock pitch using various indicators of fundamental and technical analysis by selecting companies listed in the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE). <\/p>\n
The competition was conducted in three phases. In the first phase, registration and case studies were submitted. A total of 49 students from 31 colleges across the country participated in the tournament. <\/p>\n
A total of 18 candidates were selected for the second phase, i.e., the case study presentation stage. In the final round, a live stock pitch presentation was held between the top 8 contestants. <\/p>\n
Thapaliya of Shankar Dev Campus secured the first position in the competition and received a cash prize of Rs 10,000, trophy and three months free internship. Sujal Budhathoki from KUSOM secured Rs 7,000 cash prize, trophy and three months free internship while Safal Shrestha from Lincoln International College of Management and IT Network secured Rs 5,000, trophy and three months free internship. Apart from this, two other contestants were also given 3 months of free internship. <\/p>\n
The competition was evaluated by a distinguished jury. Jury members included Abiral Nepal (Chairman, Chandakya Fund), Bigyan Bhandari (Head of Investment, Himalayan Everest Insurance), Astitva Sharma (CEO, Subiz Group and Director, AXIOM Nepal), Bibek Adhikari and Deepak Raj Panta, Trading Officer, Sun Securities. <\/p>\n
The media partner of the competition was Insurancekhabar.com, data analytics partner was NEPSE Alpha and KUSOM Finance Club and Quest Finance Club were the outreach partners. <\/p>\n
Sun Securities said it will continue to make the competition even more comprehensive and effective in the coming years.
