Kathmandu. Nepal SBI Bank has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sustainable Electric Transport for Nepal (SET4NPL) Project. SET4NPL Project Mitigation Action Facility is a program run by the German International Cooperation Organization (Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Internationale Zusammenarbeit GIZ) in collaboration with the Government of Nepal, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI). <\/p>\n
SET4NPL project provides a range of financial and non-financial incentives to public transport operators and financial intermediaries (hire-purchase companies, banks and financial institutions) to promote the use of electric vehicles in Nepal’s public transportation sector. It aims to make Nepal’s public transportation sustainable, convenient and technology-friendly. For this, the project will provide various incentive packages to purchase and operate 3500 electric microbuses and minibuses. Under this, all the vehicles under the project will be included in a central web portal including GPS, e-ticketing equipment and networking for electric vehicles. <\/p>\n
Nepal SBI Bank aims to be a responsible contributor to green initiatives in Nepal by acting as a facilitator. The MoU was exchanged between Mr. Roshan Koirala, Chief Credit Officer of the Bank and Mr. Diego Senonor, Chief Advisor of GIZ Nepal on behalf of the project. <\/p>\n
