The government has unveiled its strategies for capital market reform and development. <\/p>\n<p>The government&#8217;s Second Financial Sector Development Strategy (FY 2082). 83\u20132086. 87) It has made public the strategies related to capital market development. The government&#8217;s strategy is to diversify the financial instruments and promote instruments such as derivative market, bond market, mutual investment plan, real estate investment trust, index fund and green bonds. The government has prepared a strategy to dematerialize all types of financial instruments including government bonds and make arrangements for transactions in the secondary market through an automated system, to prepare and operate an innovation and regulatory sandbox framework, to mobilize the capital required for sustainable economic development by studying new alternative finance such as crowd funding and peer-to-peer lending. g. <\/p>\n<p>The government&#8217;s strategy is to make the book building system contemporary and credible to attract real sector companies for capital mobilization in the securities market and to establish a separate SME platform for the issuance and trading of securities of small and medium-sized companies by implementing regulations and by-laws. However, the process has not moved forward so far after the Securities Board of Nepal directed NEPSE to operate the SME platform. <\/p>\n<p>Similarly, the government has adopted a strategy to bring small and non-resident Nepalis into the capital market of Nepal and to operate intraday transactions, auction market, short selling and other services. The government has a strategy for merger of securities dealers, restructuring of CDSC and NEPSE, and enhancing regulatory capacity of market regulators. <\/p>\n<p>Similarly, the government has the policy of developing and upgrading sectoral directives and instruments in line with international standards and good practices, developing a modern and efficient trading system, a clear system and a deposit system, and the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON) to obtain general membership of the International Organization of Securities Market Regulatory Bodies (IOSCO). <\/p>\n<p>The government has planned to carry out various works for the protection of the rights and interests of the investors and has expressed commitment to carry out necessary works for strengthening the financial sector and financial stability.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu.
