Kathmandu. The Supreme Court has issued a new order not to continue the interim order issued by Sharad Ojha. This has paved the way for the appointment of a new chairman of the Nepal Insurance Authority. <\/p>\n
A division bench of Justices Nahakul Subedi and Tek Prasad Dhungana issued the order on Sunday. <\/p>\n
A single bench of Supreme Court Justice Saranga Subedi on September 23 issued an interim order paving the way for Ojha to continue as the chairman of the NRA. Prior to this, the recommendation committee formed by the government had issued a notice on August 30 inviting applications for the appointment of the chairman of the Insurance Authority. A period of 7 days has been given for this. After the expiry of the application period, Ojha had filed a writ petition at the Supreme Court seeking an interim order. <\/p>\n
The meeting of the Council of Ministers held on August 9 last year had formed a three-member committee under the convenorship of National Planning Commission Vice-Chairman Prof Dr Shivaraj Adhikari. A meeting of the Council of Ministers on August 18 had sacked the then chairman of NRA Sharad Ojha citing lack of work experience. A meeting of the Council of Ministers on February 26 last year had appointed Ojha, who hails from Kanchanpur, to the post. <\/p>\n
