Kathmandu. Construction insurance costs in the Asia Pacific region are expected to decline in Q3 2025 on the back of increased competition and new market entrants. <\/p>\n
That’s according to Mars’ global construction market update for the third quarter of 2025. In Asia, commercial compensation premiums have fallen by as much as 50 per cent following a reduction in project-specific contracts and increased competition for contractor businesses. General liability rates in the region remain lower than the global average, and competition is expected to keep prices low. <\/p>\n
Major insurers tend to be tighter on terms for large or complex projects, and secondary insurers are increasingly willing to offer larger coverage limits. This helps some customers to get lower deductibles and better premium rates. <\/p>\n
The Asia Pacific market is experiencing similar stability, with single-digit rate cuts for standard construction projects. Small businesses are benefiting the most from business compensation competition, offering at least a 10% rate deductible and some less deductible. Large contractors are also getting up to 10 percent discount. <\/p>\n
Some liability insurance companies are offering double-digit discounts and long-term lockout rates to retain existing customers. In addition, the primary coverage limit for these policies has increased from $16.8 million to $33.5 million. <\/p>\n
The challenge is to find large insurance companies for projects worth more than $0.7 billion. That’s because the number of large companies available remains unchanged.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
