Kathmandu. Current fiscal year 2082. Foreign direct investment (FDI) commitments worth Rs 39.25 billion have been received in the first six months of 2018. <\/p>\n
According to the Department of Industry, foreign investment worth Rs 39.23 billion has been committed for 475 industries in the second quarter of the current fiscal year. These commitments have been received for 7 large, 8 medium and 460 small industries. <\/p>\n
According to the Department, foreign investment commitments amounting to Rs 599.5 million were made for 36 small industries in the last fiscal year alone. <\/p>\n
It is estimated that 20,122 people will get employment from these industries which have received commitment for foreign investment till mid-January of the current fiscal year. <\/p>\n
In the first six months of the current fiscal year, the highest commitment has been received for the establishment of industries in the information technology sector. Investment commitments have been made for 257 industries in the region. <\/p>\n
Similarly, the highest amount of investment commitment has been made for the agriculture sector. According to the Department, till mid-January, foreign investment commitments amounting to Rs 21.88 billion have been made for 13 industries. This is 56 percent of the total investment commitment. <\/p>\n
Similarly, foreign investment commitment of Rs 10.54 billion (27 per cent) has been made in tourism sector, Rs 3.46 billion (9 per cent) in service sector, Rs 2.03 billion (5 per cent) in manufacturing sector, Rs 1.07 billion (3 per cent) in information and technology and Rs 184.2 million in energy sector.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
