The Bar Council of India has suspended the license of lawyer Rakesh Kishore, who was accused of assaulting the Chief Justice of India. <\/p>\n<p>Kishor had thrown a shoe at Chief Justice of India Bhushan Ramakrishna Gavai. The Bar Council of India has decided to suspend his license No. D-1647-2009 for violating the professional dignity. <\/p>\n<p>Rakesh Kishor took off his shoes and threw a shoe at the Chief Justice of India (CJ) at 11:35 am on Tuesday. The judge didn&#8217;t even hit the shoe. However, he was immediately taken into custody by the police. <\/p>\n<p>The Bar Council of India is the governing body of Indian legal practitioners. <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-271954 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/insurancekhabar.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/a2a716f7-9acc-44d4-b0b3-c8637a16d8d4.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1080\" height=\"1387\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Undeterred by the shocking developments in the court, Chief Justice Gavai said, &#8220;I am the last person to be affected by such things.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>According to eyewitnesses, when the Chief Justice began hearing the first case of the day, the old man shouted slogans saying &#8220;India will not tolerate the insult to Sanatan&#8221; and threw a shoe at the bench. <\/p>\n<p>Court guards moved quickly and detained the man who threw the shoe. The shoe that hit the Chief Justice did not hit the target. <\/p>\n<p>The person who threw the shoe was carrying a proximity card to be provided to the lawyers and staff of the Supreme Court. <\/p>\n<p>His intention to target the Chief Justice is not clear.\u00a0The Chief Justice is said to have asked the Registrar of the Court not to take any action against him. <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kathmandu.
