KATHMANDU: Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has unveiled a budget of Rs 1.59 billion, taking strategic steps to protect the country&#8217;s tourism industry from climate risks. FY 2082. The budget for FY83 has made disaster preparedness a top priority for the expenditure. <\/p>\n<p>This is the country&#8217;s largest single-year investment in Nepal&#8217;s post-pandemic tourism revival. <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Special focus on disaster risk reduction{<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>}<\/p>\n<p>In view of Nepal&#8217;s high vulnerability to floods, landslides and other natural disasters, the Tourism Board has allocated a significant amount for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). To ensure the safety of tourists, the following main actions have been prioritized: <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"> Preparedness System: <\/span> Establish early warning system in major tourist areas. <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Infrastructure Improvement: <\/span> Construction of safe rescue routes and dams along the river to upgrade critical infrastructure. <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Training and Equipment: <\/span> Provide training to local communities and tourism workers in disaster management and response, as well as emergency equipment and equipment needed for rapid response. <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Security Focused Tourism Development<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The board is investing in destination development to restore tourist confidence and diversify tourism. <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"> Quality Improvement: <\/span> Improving the quality of services to tourist accommodation, trekking routes and local transportation. <\/p>\n<p>c<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"> Diversification: <\/span> Promote lesser-known destinations to reduce congestion and extend economic benefits across the country. <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"> Market Campaign: <\/span> To launch an integrated international marketing campaign to establish Nepal as a resilient and responsible tourist destination. <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Commitment to transparency and cooperation<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>}<\/p>\n<p>The Tourism Board has committed to transparent budget management, continuous monitoring, and deeper partnerships with local governments, disaster agencies, and international organizations.
