Brazil&#8217;s former president Jair Bolsonaro has been sentenced to 27 years and three months in prison for plotting a military coup. <\/p>\n<p>Bolsonaro&#8217;s sentencing came hours after a five-judge panel of Brazil&#8217;s Supreme Court convicted him. The court has ruled that Bolsonaro led a conspiracy to stay in power after he lost the 2022 election to leftist rival Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. <\/p>\n<p>Four of the five judges found Bolsonaro guilty and one acquitted him.
