Kathmandu. The Hong Kong Insurance Authority (AI) has warned customers against the rise in fraudulent websites and emails. <\/p>\n
The AI has issued a warning to customers to beware of such websites and emails. \u2018These websites and emails are being used to trick customers into believing that they are from an official insurance company,\u2019 the AI said. \u2018We therefore urge you to be careful and ignore such websites and emails. They may try to defraud you by obtaining your personal and financial information.\u2019 <\/p>\n
The AI has said that two fake websites are being used to deceive customers by claiming that they are the official platform of Hong Kong-based insurance company AIA International Limited (AIA). \u2018A fake email ID has also been discovered,\u2019 AI said, \u2018through which a link is sent and upon clicking on that link, all the confidential information of the customer is obtained.\u2019 <\/p>\n
Insurance company AIA has clarified that such websites and emails are not affiliated with its company. The company has urged any customer who has been a victim of fraud through such websites and emails to inform the company\u2019s customer service center and file a complaint with the police. <\/p>\n
