Kathmandu. The judicial performance of the Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA) seems to be very slow.
This is evident from the insurance reflection made public by the NEA. According to the data, the current fiscal year 2082. Only 11 percent of the complaints received in the first five months have been settled.
A total of 456 complaints have been received at the NRA’s central office and province offices till mid-December of the current fiscal year. In the previous fiscal year 2081. There are 394 complaints transferred from 82. As of mid-December of the current fiscal year, 43 complaints have been registered at the central office and 19 at the state office.
Till mid-December of the current fiscal year, a total of 49 complaints have been settled with 33 complaints of verdict and 16 agreements. This is only 10.75 percent of the total number. Accordingly, 89.25 percent of the complaints are yet to be settled.
NEA officials say that the judicial execution work has not gained momentum even though the board of directors has not been complete in recent times. Due to the delay in the appointment of vacant directors in the five-member board of directors, the judicial bench operated by the authority has not been able to sit.
The government has recently appointed retired secretary Dr. Ganesh Prasad Pandey as an expert member of NEA’s Board of Directors. After the completion of the term of Santosh Rijal on November 3, the board of directors of NEA was reduced to two members.
