Kathmandu. The Bagmati Province Microfinance Members’ Conference is scheduled to be held on Friday, December 24. The organizers gave this information at a press conference held at Karki Banquet Babarmahal on Wednesday. The conference is jointly organized by Manushi Laghubitta, Swalamban Laghubitta, Chhimek Laghubitta, Suryodaya Bomi Laghubitta and Women Cooperative Savings and Credit Cooperative.
Humanshi Laghubitta’s Chief Executive Officer Shobha Bajracharya, who is also the coordinator of the project, informed that microfinance organizations running microfinance programs with central office in Bagmati Province will participate in the conference. According to the organizers, although such a conference was organized at the national level in the past, it is going to be held at the state level for the first time.
The main objective of the conference is to improve the living standard of the underprivileged people as per the spirit and spirit of microfinance, to create an environment to make the microfinance program more effective as a backbone of rural economy and to encourage youth members towards entrepreneurship and to promote sustainable microfinance practices by making all stakeholders responsible and accountable ।
The conference is expected to increase mutual understanding and collaboration among the microfinance members through the exchange of experiences and enhance knowledge and learning among the microfinance members as well as contribute to sustainable development of microfinance sector, promotion of entrepreneurship and inclusive economic growth. The organizers expressed the belief that the conference would also play a role in changing the negative perception towards microfinance existing in recent period.
